Design Brief
This is day 23 of my daily logo design challenge. Today's brief was to design a boat logo. The following business names were proposed. Foata, Star Point Marine, Open Waters Yachts. The exact nature of the business was to be determined and would inform the design process. I chose Star Point Marine and elected to treat it as an international container shipping company.
Proposal
The simplified and minimalist logomark representing the front view of a container ship clearly evokes the line of business. Its solid and serious delivery is a clear reference to the qualities the company wants to project on its customers.
The logotype is built from the condensed Bebas Neue sans serif face. Its clean lines and elegant shapes, its touch of technical straightforwardness further assert the company's qualities. The logotype and logomark may be arranged horizontally or vertically depending on the requirements of the application.
The concept envisions a striking color palette built around a vivid red and complementary deep blue that would not only define the comapny's communication material but also paintwork accross its fleet of vessels and containers.
