Back from a winter day in Les Saisies, inspired by glorious views of the Mont Blanc, the Aravis mountain range, the Beaufortain and Val d’Arly, I recently worked on a new minimalist digital illustration featuring Mont Charvin.
On that day, generously covered with pristine snow, Mont Charvin was rising from a sea of clouds shaped like a sharp-edge flintstone. That vision from the top of the ski resort was just stunning in its beauty and simplicity. The composition, the purity of lines and surfaces, the winter color palette led to an inspiration for a minimalist illustration that could be sketched with just a few pencil strokes.
Pale blues and soft bluish greys compose a minimal, soft and airy, color palette than not only does justice to the cold and sunny winter afternoon this illustration captures, but also contributes to the feeling of simplicity and quiet.
